At the breastraunt

Noriko and I had this discussion the other night about Kentaro and his neck, mainly wondering if he really had one. He seems healthy in every other way and although he doesn't have wrists, his plump little arms kind of marshmallow into his little hands and somehow that's cute. We eventually consoled ourselves by noting what a cute second chin he has. After all, who needs a neck when you have two chins anyway?!

Yesterday we officially found out what we already knew. Our son is fat. Now don't get me wrong, we love him dearly and think he's the cutest thing ever but he just had the standard 2 month check-up and weighed in at a healthy (read: hefty) 14.4 lbs! That places him squarely into the 95th percentile in weight for his age!! What a porker, eh?! ...& no wonder Noriko has been complaining about lower back soreness!! At 24 and a quarter inches in length he is in the 90th percentile and his head was just above the 50th percentile mark. Funny, with a second chin like that I thought the head size would be right up there too but i guess they do it by circumference...

My favorite questions from the pediatrician were, "Is this child really only 2 months old?!" and "Are you sure he is only being fed breastmilk?" The answer was "yes" to both...

It always makes me laugh when after drinking at the breastraunt for some time he abruptly throws himself off the boob, out of breath and blankly starring out into the universe. He looks totally drunk on breastmilk. It's hilarious.

Anyway, I'd be remiss if I didn't post a picture of Kentaro hard at work, so here you go...

Jeremy, "At the breastraunt" had me rolling. And Ivette and Jack who's computer I happen to be using. My question is "how does such a petite mom produce such potent and large amounts of breastmilk?" Right on Mommy! :)I say Good for Kentaro! He's living up to his name!
He is getting more adorable everyday. Ivette agrees that he looks like both of you AND that he is so darn cute. I'm so glad you are doing this blog! Big Hug to all of you!
